நற்றிணை என்பது தமிழ் இலக்கியத்தில் எட்டுத்தொகை என்ற சங்க இலக்கிய வகைப்பாட்டினுள் காணப்படும் ஒரு நூலாகும். இந்நூல் தனிப்பாடல்களாகப் பலராலும் பாடப்பட்டுப் பின்னர்த் தொகுக்கப்பட்டது. எட்டுத்தொகை நூல்கள் இவையெனக் குறிப்பிடும் பழைய வெண்பாவில் முதலிடம் பெற்றுத்திகழ்வது நற்றிணை ஆகும். எட்டுத்தொகை நூல்களில் “நல்” என்ற அடைமொழி பெற்ற நூல் (நல்+திணை) இதுவேயாகும். இதனை நற்றிணை நானூறு என்றும் கூறுவர். இந்நூலில் கடவுள் வாழ்த்தோடு 401 பாடல்கள் ஆசிரியப்பாவில் அமைந்துள்ளன. நற்றிணைப் பாடல்கள் அக்காலச் சமூகத்தை அறியப் பெரிதும் துணைபுரிகின்றன. மன்னர்களின் ஆட்சிச் சிறப்பும், கொடைத்தன்மையும், கல்வியாளர்களின்…
